How many movies can I check out at once?

That depends on your plan. We have a 3 DVD plan. If you signed up for the DVD plan, you can have up to Three titles in your possession at once.

Lets say for example, that you signed up for the three DVD plan. If you return one DVD back to us, we'll send out one DVD from your Preview Magic DVD Request List (the first available starting at the top of your queue). If you send back two DVDs, then we'll send you the next two available DVD's on your Request List.... and so forth. This ensures that you will always have three videos at once.

How long can I keep a DVD?

You can keep a movie for as long as you want without late fees, or any other penalties as long as you are a member!

Can I pay with a check or be billed in the mail?

No. We require a valid credit card card for every Preview Magic DVD Subscription Plan, including all promotions. This is to verify account information, secure orders and prevent fraud.

Are there any places you won't ship to?

We ship anywhere in the continental United States.

Are your movies sent by first class mail?

All our discs are sent by first class mail. If you're returning our DVDs at your local post office, you may return DVDs sent in our mailers through the metered mail slot, if available.

How long will it take to get my videos?

When you have an open rental slot, we make every effort to ship your DVD as soon as inventory is available. DVDs usually arrive within 2 to 4 days, but occasionally some may take longer than 4 days to arrive because of postal delays.

Orders received on Sundays and holidays are processed the following business day.

How do I report a shipping problem or a disc that won't play?

If you have any shipping problems, such as delayed arrival of your selections, or an unplayable DVD, you can report it on the Contact Preview Magic DVD's page.
***If your DVD is skipping, try washing with mild soap or window cleaner. If that doesn't work, just let us know and we.ll either ship you another copy of the same title or your next requested title.

I lost the protective sleeve which the DVD arrived in.

If you lost the sleeve which the DVD arrived in (the one with the movie title and description on it), be sure to include a note in the envelope with your email address on it so we can properly credit your account.

 What if I don't receive a title?

We understand that things happen and sometimes the US Postal Service can make mistakes, and therefore we offer the Contact Preview Magic DVDs page to report the occasional lost DVD. If you received the DVD and have misplaced it and you wish to add another DVD to your account a replacement cost will be billed to your account. But remember there's no rush - we understand things get misplaced and there is no due date - so keep looking and we'll continue to send new dvds as we receive your viewed dvds.

What is 'My DVD Request List'?

'My DVD Request List' is the list of movies you've selected to preview. You can update or edit your Request List anytime. Initially, we'll send you the first available DVDs from your Request List. When you're finished watching one of the DVDs you have out, send it back so we can ship the next available title from your Request List. To rent a video, browse the Preview Magic DVDs site and click the Rent button next to any DVD. This title will be added to your Request List.

To adjust the priority of DVDs, change the number in the Priority column and then click Update Request List. It's also easy to change the priority of more than one DVD at a time. Simply change the priority of as many DVDs as you want and then click Update Request List -- the site will make all the necessary changes. To remove selections from your Request List, check the Remove box next to any DVD.

Occasionally, I receive the second or third disc in my DVD Request List before the first. Why does this happen?

When you return a disk or have an open slot in your Request List, we make every effort to ship your first choice. To help you get the most out of your membership, if a title in a higher spot is out of stock, we'll send your next available in-stock title. This way, you will always have great DVDs on hand!

I sent back a DVD but never got the next one in My DVD Request List.

Once a title you return has been checked back into our inventory, you'll receive an email confirmation of its return. We'll then ship the next available title from your Request List. You can always check the My Account page on the site to see whether we have received the disk you've returned. If 7-10 days pass, and you don't receive a confirmation email from us, please use the Contact Us page to report it as 'already returned'.

I thought it’s illegal to rent Magic DVDs because they say “Not for Rental” on them, how do you get away with this?

First of all it is perfectly legal to rent out any DVD that is an original copy due to First Sale Doctrine. A company can print “not for rental” or anything else they desire on the DVD or DVD case, but it is not binding, it merely serves as a deterrent . It’s similar to if someone writes “patented” on a product they produce, that does not necessarily mean the product is patented or bound by intellectual property protection

Secondly, PreviewMagicDVDs.com does not rent DVDs, they loan them to members. There is no time limit a member can borrow a DVD for and there is no additional fees for prolonged borrowing. There are only membership fees which allow you to preview DVDs to help you make an educated decision on whether it is worth purchasing or not

Isn’t this unethical to loan out magic DVDs?

Simply put no.

PreviewMagicDVDs.com demands that members do not use any of the material taught on the DVDs personally or professionally. The website exists to help educate the buyer before making an uninformed purchase. If you believe a DVD is not worth the price after previewing it (as many are not) than you have avoided wasting your money on material you have no intention of using. If a DVD is well produced and contains worthwhile material that you would like to learn, perform, or use, we insist that YOU behave ethically and purchase an original copy of that DVD.

If PreviewMagicDVDs learns of anyone misusing the website to illegally copy the DVDs we will immediately terminate their membership and turn them in to the proper authorities.
